The first day we were there I took Kylie and Taylir, along with my sister Kris and nephew Jordan, to Dixie State University in nearby St. George to tour the campus. Kylie and Jordy are thinking about attending college there in the Fall and we wanted to show them around and get them excited since both of their mommies went there many many moons ago. Although the campus had built a lot of new buildings, a lot was still the same. Even the gymnasium where me and Kris use to practice with the Rebelettes drill team smelled EXACTLY the same after all these years. Just walking through the doors and smelling that smell made me get that dejavue feeling....don't you love that feeling?!?!
On Saturday, we had our traditional Easter Egg hunt put on by my parents at their home in St. George. The kids are all getting older, but they still love to do the hunt, especially since their is $$ involved. My parents hide a special gold and silver egg containing unspecified $$ for the top prizes. The pastel candy filled eggs are great to find, but the kids would rather run past those eggs and look for the SHINY eggs containing the $$. This year Jordan found the gold egg and Carson found the silver one.
On Monday, the only warm day we had, the kids took advantage of it and did some swimming and cliff jumping into the reservoir.
No matter where the kids went, Tank followed.....along with Gunner chasing after Tank. It was very obvious that Gunner didn't want Tank in the water for some strange reason. Yes, we were quite the sight.....4 kids running around with 2 dogs chasing after them with the little dog barking and biting at the heels of the bigger dog. Mark had finally had enough of Gunner barking and decided to teach him a lesson and threw HIM in the water! Poor Tank wants this stick so bad but he's not much of a swimmer and will only wade out to his belly. He pawed and pawed at the water but the stick would not come to him. In this picture you can see him s-t-r-e-t-c-h as far as he can without going any deeper. Aren't labs suppose to love to swim?!?
Later that evening, we roasted hotdogs and smores and had fun around the campfire.
He also did the majority of the cooking since it was my Spring Break too! Me and the kids woke up every morning to the aroma of a hot breakfast being cooked. What a great break from my domestic goddess duties so I could do what I love most.....READ with my attached at the hip dogs and be my goofy self! I LOVE MY GOOD GOMER!!
On Tuesday we met the whole fam at In-N-Out Burger in Washington for lunch and then headed out to explore the red rock "Narrows" that the kids absolutely LOVE. We also visited the Mountain Meadow Massacre Memorial and Snow Canyon. It was a full day and another COLD and extremely windy one.

The rest of the trip we hung out with our own little family and just had fun being at the campground (in the cold). We played a lot of board games and did more exploring when it wasn't too cold. We drove into Colorado City/Hilldale (The Polygamist towns on the Arizona border) and showed the kids the strangeness of that city.....creepy place! By this morning, we were ready to head home in hopes that the snow would be melted. After 9 days in close quarters, I think everyone is happy to be back in the comfort of their own space in their separate bedrooms. We had a ton of fun though and are already looking forward to our next camping trip!We get some slack from this one, but the kids take their game systems for a "rainy day" and we had a lot of those! Kylie is the GAMER!Carson and Colton enjoying lunch
This is the victim of an unfortunate "stepping on" at our campsite.....poor little guy died instantly we hope!
Gunner had to be tranquilized the first part of our trip because he is a hyper Jack Russell Terrier and still hasn't learned his lesson on letting his mommy (me) out of his sight. The whole campground can hear him whine and bark - and I'm not about to sit in the trailor with him the whole trip!
I couldn't resist posting this picture of my baby asleep in my arms. Look at this toothless mug only a mommy could love!! :)
