Madison Invitational Baseball Tournament

We just arrived home from attending the Madison Invitational Baseball Tournamanet in Rexburg, Idaho to watch Carson's 12-year old AF team. This team was made up of all the boys his age in our city league that made the all-star team.....and what a team this was!

The first day of the tournament the boys weren't looking all that great and lost two games. The next day the weather was terrible but the boys managed to win their morning game. The second game was called due to rain and boy did it ever rain! With two losses and a rain-out this put them into the 8th seed going into the playoffs on the final day, Saturday. But watch out, these boys stepped up to the plate and played the next three games like they really were the best of the best of AF and not like they were the first day......The boys are back in town!!

They were set to play the number #1 team going into game one of the playoffs and sitting at #8 and they rose to the challenge and won the game 11-2 eliminating the local home team who sponsored the tournament -yikes....not a lot of happy locals after this game! Game two, the semi-finals was played immediately following game one against the #4 seed who were another Idaho team and we sent them packing after winning 9-4. This team was actually the team favored to win the whole tournament and our boys beat them!! Our boys are going to the championship game against yet another Idaho team who had some pretty big kids who knew how to hit. This game was played with a lot of power but just not enough to come out on top in the end. The team from Rupert won 11-6. But I couldn't be more proud of the boys for rallying that final day and playing non-stop for a triple header, back to back to back. They were absolutely wiped out in the end but didn't complain with taking second place. Second place was awesome considering our record.....we'll take it! We didn't get home until after midnight and we were all sunburned and exhausted. 9am church came awfully early this morning!

Me and the girls obviously during one of the games we lost because during the triple headers we had a hard time sitting still and were constantly jumping up and down! I don't think Mark ever sat with us.....he was so pumped up and was EVERYWHERE but sitting in his chair!

I managed to convince Carson that he would be happy one day with a picture of this.

CONGRATULATIONS AF CAVEMEN 12-YEAR OLDS!!!!

That doesn't surprise me of Mark. Even if the game was boring he wouldn't be sitting just pacing. When does he ever sit? Congratulations Carsy boy!!
